We all understand how someone who has done a good job is the one who is most likely to get a promotion when the time comes. We see that in sports or in the workplace. But do we understand that the same principle is at work in the spiritual world? Do we know that God is watching how we use our talents to His benefit and that this will factor into how pleased He is with us?
Matthew 25:23
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”
This does not mean that we can earn our way into heaven, but God does expect us to show our faith in Him and our appreciation of His gift of Jesus Christ. If we are truly thankful, then we will show fruits of that through faithful service. Let’s remember to examine our lives and make sure that we are using our talents and efforts toward the benefit of the kingdom.
