Devotion is a special part of any relationship. If you have a strong relationship, then there will be displays of devotion.
Jeremiah 2:1-2 reads:
The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord, “I remember the devotion of your youth, your love as a bride, how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.”
Jeremiah tells the people of Israel how God remembers when they were willing to follow Him wherever He led them. That was a strong, trusting relationship.
For those who are married, we have both shown devotion and received it from our mates. Those are memories that we reflect upon and cherish. Do we have moments of devotion to God that we can look back on? Anyone can talk about how much faith they have in God, but have we shown Him our devotion?
