Could We Find One Righteous Man?

In the morally bankrupt society of Jeremiah’s day, God instructs the prophet to: “Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; see now and know; and seek in her open places if you can find a man, if there is anyone who executes judgment, who seeks the truth, and I will pardon her, though they say, ‘As the Lord lives,’ surely they swear falsely” (Jeremiah 5:1-2).
A similar account is found in Genesis 18-19, where we also see God seeking to find a few righteous folks who will trust Him and be obedient to His will (Matthew 7:21). In the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, there were only three folks found (Genesis 19:15) who were spared God’s destructive force of fire and brimstone (Genesis 19:23-24).
Hopefully, in the city where we live, we would be able to find more than one righteous man. But if we could only find one righteous man who was honest, dealt fairly with his fellow man, and was seeking God’s truth…….
Would we qualify as that man?
Let’s think about it!
