Children Are a Blessing

We are blessed to have children at this congregation. There was a time when we had very few, and so as I see them winding through the aisles and making their way to the pulpit area to play after services, I feel blessed. Children are innocent and eager to learn, and according to Jesus, there is something that we can learn from their nature.

Luke 18:15-17
Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

When we look to learn spiritual things we need to be like children. We should be open and eager to learn, and most importantly, we need to acknowledge that we have a lot to learn from our Father in heaven. We should give thanks for our children and do what we can to teach them and influence them. Give thanks for the parents and teachers here in the congregation, and contribute to the education of our youth as much as we can. And, be like children in our own spiritual learning and attitude toward God.
